The Design of Glove Box in a Flat Space

Abstract: The passenger-side glove box is an important storage space which can be used to store larger items such as the vehicle operation manual. Taking the design case of the glove box of Xiaomi SU7 as an example, this article introduces the uniqueness of the surrounding environment, analyzes the limitations of the initial design in contributing to storage space, and provides detailed descriptions on how to maximize the storage space of the glove box while using conventional design methods in the case of insufficient space in the Z direction and seeking innovation and differentiated design. This is achieved through techniques such as disassembling the box body and arranging the air duct to the left, aiming for the optimal utilization of space, achieve a capacity of 9.8 L, which can accommodate larger items such as file bags, enhancing the user's experience. At the same time, some useful experiences have been accumulated for the design of glove boxes, which can be explored and referenced.

摘要: 乘用车副驾驶侧的手套箱是车上较为重要的储物空间,可供收纳车辆操作说明书等较 大的物品。文章以小米 SU7 的手套箱设计为例,介绍了 SU7 手套箱所处周边环境的特殊性, 分析了前期设计方案对储物空间贡献的局限性,并详细描述了如何在 Z 向空间不足的情况下 利用常规设计方法的同时寻求创新和差异化设计,通过箱体拆件、吹脚风道整体靠左布置等 手段实现手套箱储物空间的最大化,达成 9.8 L 的容积,能容纳档案袋等较大的物品,提升用 户的用车体验。同时为智能化汽车手套箱设计积累一些有用的经验,可供探讨借鉴。
