  • Publication Ethics and Publication Malpractice Statement

As a publisher of scholarly journals, Editorial Office of Automobile Applied Technology Journal is committed to meeting high standards of ethical behavior at all stages of the publication process. The editorial office, authors, reviewers and editors of Journal of Automobile Applied Technology strictly abide by the ethical responsibility of publishing.

    Section 1 For Reviewers

    Contribution to Editorial Decisions

A peer reviewer assists editors in making editorial decisions and, through the editorial communication with the author, may also assist authors in improving their manuscript. Any invited referee who feels unqualified to review the research reported in a manuscript or knows that its timely review will be impossible should immediately notify the editor so that alternative reviewers can be contacted.

    Impartiality

Reviewers should give a fair evaluation on the significance of topic selection, theoretical level, writing quality, rationality of argumentation, etc. Reviewers should respect the independence of the author's ideas for scientific research and innovation, and avoid prejudice and racial discrimination.

    Standards of Objectivity

Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism against authors is unacceptable. Referees should express their views clearly with appropriate supporting arguments.

    Overall Review

The review is not only on the academic level but also on ethics and potential misconduct. A reviewer should also call to the editor’s attention any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and any other published data of which they have personal knowledge.

    Conflict of Interests

Reviewers should not consider evaluating manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interests resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with any of the authors, companies, or institutions connected to the submission.

    Confidentiality

Any manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. They must not be shown to or discussed with others except for authorized by editors. Privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal advantage.

    Section 2 For Authors

    Reporting Standards

Authors reporting results of original research should present an accurate account of the work performed as well as an objective discussion of its significance. Underlying data should be represented accurately in the manuscript. A paper should contain sufficient detail and references to permit others to replicate the work. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements is unethical and unacceptable.

    Multiple Submission or Redundant Publishing

Publishing resources are limited and belong to the whole science community. Each participant should cherish the resources including page resources, manuscript review resources and editing resources. Multiple submission or redundant publishing is forbidden, unless the publisher reprints or republishes it according to readers’ demand. If preliminary results are published in form of newsletters, a complete version research report could be published afterwards, but the original newsletters should be appropriately quoted.

    Proper Citation

Previous research having great impact on the submitted article must be clearly marked in a proper way, and the original results and quoted achievements in the article should be clearly defined and distinguished. Authors have responsibility to search and quote the literatures closely related to the article as much as possible, and the source should be indicated. Information obtained through non-public means, including communication, conversation and review, shall be used only with consent of the owners.

    Slicing Publishing

Authors should try to ensure the completeness of the report and avoid slicing the research results, as fragmented results not only waste academic publishing resources, but also affect readers' complete understanding and increase the difficulty of readers' literature retrieval. Authors are responsible to provide relevant data, materials and samples needed by reviewers or readers or indicate the way to obtain them.

    Conflict of Interests

All authors must disclose all potential conflicts of interests, i.e., when the financing / personal status / affiliation of the authors (or the authors' organization / employer) may affect the authors' decision, work or manuscript. When a product is involved, the author should also disclose whether there is a conflict of interest against competitive products.

    Academic Courtesy

It is necessary to clearly point out possible hazards involved in the research work related to the article, such as dangerous chemicals, instruments and equipment, test process, etc. Academic debate is encouraged, but personal attacks and racial discrimination is prohibited. ?

    Authorship

An author should be a person who participates in topic selection, study design, data analysis and manuscript drafting. The order of authors shall be determined before submission and shall not be changed thereafter. The change of order could be made only if a consent letter from all authors is provided. Other contributors for the manuscript should be listed in acknowledgement.

    Section 3 For Editors

    Fairness

Editors should evaluate manuscripts for intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.

    Accountability

Editors of a peer-reviewed journal is responsible for deciding which articles submitted to the journal should be published, and, moreover, are accountable for everything published in the journal. In making these decisions, editors may be guided by the policies of the journal’s editorial board as well as by legal requirements regarding libel, copyright infringement and plagiarism. Editors may confer with other editors or reviewers when making publication decisions. Editors should maintain the integrity of the academic record, never submit to commercial needs by compromising intellectual and ethical standards, and always be willing to publish corrections, clarifications, retractions and apologies when needed.

    Confidentiality

Editors will not disclose any information about a manuscript under consideration to anyone other than authors, reviewers and potential reviewers, and in some instances editorial board members, other editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate. Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in an editor’s own research without written consent of the authors. Privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal advantage.

    Respect for Innovation

The exploration and innovation in research work should be fully respected by editors. Authors should be encouraged to hold opinions that are different from existing theories or experts.

    Conflict of Interests

If any conflict of interest is involved, editors should avoid handling the manuscript.

    Timing

Editors should deal with manuscripts submitted by authors in time, and decide whether to accept them or not as soon as possible, so as to ensure the timely publication of research results that meet the publishing requirements and quality standards of the journal, shorten the reporting cycle of research results, and speed up the exchange of scientific information.

    Verification

Editors should check whether or not the authors have excessively unreasonable citation of their own works or some others’ work. If the manuscript quotes too many or too few of the reviewer's publications, attention should be paid whether or not there is bias in review comment.
