Influence of Reactive Control Compression Ignition on the Performance of Internal Combustion Engines

Abstract: In recent years, the combustion of fossil fuels in automotive internal combustion engines has posed significant challenges to the environment and global energy. Exploring efficient and low emission combustion methods is urgent for the development of internal combustion engines. This paper analyzes the impact of low-temperature premixed combustion on the performance of internal combustion engines by consulting relevant literature and combining it with current research hotspots, by introducing of homogeneous charge compression ignition (HCCI) and premixed charge compression ignition (PCCI), analyzing the shortcomings of them, and the combustion method of reactivity controlled compression ignition (RCCI) are analyzed. This paper analyzes the combustion principle, heat release process, and combustion characteristics of RCCI, and combines the effects of dual fuel and single fuel strategies on engine combustion and emission characteristics in RCCI combustion. It is concluded that RCCI engines can achieve higher thermal efficiency and ultra-low NOX and particulate matter (PM) emission, however, there is still room for further improvement in RCCI.

摘要: 近年来,车用内燃机燃烧化石燃料对于环境和全球能源带来巨大挑战。探究高效率、 低排放的燃烧方式对于内燃机的发展迫在眉睫。文章通过查阅相关文献,结合当前研究热点, 分析低温预混燃烧对于内燃机性能的影响,通过对均质充量压燃(HCCI)和预混压燃(PCCI) 的介绍,分析其存在的不足之处进而引出了反应活性控制压燃(RCCI)的燃烧方式。文章对 RCCI 燃烧原理、放热过程以及燃烧特性进行分析,结合在 RCCI 燃烧中的双燃料策略与单燃 料策略对发动机燃烧特性和排放特性的影响,得出 RCCI 发动机能够实现更高的热效率和超 低 NOX 和颗粒物(PM)排放的结论,但同时 RCCI 仍有进一步改进的余地。
