Abstract: In order to ensure the effectiveness, reliability, timeliness and continuity of the project management process and results, the project manager can control the project by viewing the data generated during the process. This paper explains in detail why Product lifecycle management PLM product life cycle system is used and the advantages of using this system to manage the project. Easier for project managers to track with the help of informatization technology and the implementation of the project supervision and management in the process, systematic methodically archive project information, improve the efficiency of effective communication between project team members, to reduce the communica- tion cost, reduce artificial man-hours, saving project overall budget, project delays because of the change of members environment can be avoided. This paper discusses how to use PLM system to manage the process data of product development project, and what problems should be paid attention to when using PLM system to manage Advanced product quality planning APQP project. Based on the advantages and disadvantages, it is recommended that project management units and managers can achieve the final project objectives with high efficiency and quality by using PLM information system.
