Abstract: With the continuous development of the automobile industry and the transformation and upgrading of the industry, new energy vehicles have become a hot topic in the society, and the development of new energy vehicle technology courses in higher vocational colleges and universities is an important initiative to supplement China's new energy automobile professionals, and to cultivate higher level technical talents demanded by enterprises. By analyzing the current situation of the new energy automobile technology course, as well as analyzing the depth of the core course content, we emphasize project-based learning (PBL) on basis of STEAM theory, combined with the advantages of industry-teaching integration in vocational colleges and universities. Through the comparison of practical teaching, it is found that the teaching effect of this mode in course of New nergy Vehicle Technology is significantly improved, which enhances the students' learning interest and ability, and promotes the students' in-depth understanding and application of new energy vehicle technology
