Abstract: The body dimensional precision level is an important index of manufacturing ability for OEMs. The improvement of dimensional precision of body not only requires advanced highprecision manufacturing technology and digital dimension control system, but also needs a matching dimension quality management system. Based on the concept of Mercedes-Benz precise exterior, this paper briefly introduces the target and intelligent manufacturing technology for body dimension control, and then expounds the dimension digital closed-loop management method of the whole process of body manufacturing. Verified by mass production, the method gives full play to the advantages of intelligent equipment and digital system in dimension control, and significantly improves product dimension quality and manufacturing efficiency.
